One interactive report per address, up to 33 chapters, in the browser without an app. Sun and shadow calculated geometrically, the location from the official federal maps.
Renting? The report for tenants →
SunPlot answers both from the same 3D scene of the address.
Calculated geometrically in 3D — any time, any date, with terrain, buildings and trees. What’s special: shading by mountains and vegetation from measured data.
The official location data that matters when you buy — prepared and easy to understand, for the same address.
Hours per day — today, in high summer and on 21 December, at roof and living height.
How the shadow moves at any time of day — rotate it in 3D and play it as a whole day.
Real shading from terrain, neighbouring buildings and the laser point cloud of the vegetation.
Yield for roof and façade surfaces (SFOE Sonnendach) — per surface in kWh.
Public transport quality classes, shops, schools, distances — the location in figures.
Road and railway noise for day and night (FOEN), with the limit value for comparison.
Hazard, surface runoff and hail maps for the location.
Groundwater resources, heat use and contaminated sites from federal data — what lies beneath the house.
Two addresses side by side — which one gets more sun in winter? With SunPlot Pro and Team.
View from the location towards the moon — phase, moonrise and moonset, next full moon. Behind which mountain does it rise?
Aerial photos from swisstopo going back to the 1920s — how the neighbourhood and surroundings have changed.
Noise, public transport quality classes, natural hazards, surface runoff, groundwater, solar potential, building zones — as filters over the address, with an explanation instead of a map legend. Here at the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne.

Official maps show what is there. SunPlot calculates what that means for your address: sun, shadow and view are recalculated every 10 minutes throughout the year — from terrain, building models and laser-scanned trees. SunPlot calculates these values specially for your address.
Calculated geometrically with mountains, neighbouring buildings and trees — per day, on the reference dates and for the whole year.
365 days × every time of day in one chart: when the sun reaches the property and when it is blocked.
Share of mountains, nearby terrain, and buildings and trees — you can cut down a tree, but not a mountain.
For every half metre of ground around the house: how many hours it lies in the shade — day, month, winter or year.
View from the roof ridge towards the sun and the moon, with rise and set behind the real horizon of the location.
The view from the window on every floor, before you stand in the house — calculated from the 3D model.
21 December, 21 March, 21 June: the shadows cast by the neighbourhood, hour by hour, in 3D.
The same calculations for two properties side by side — with the difference in hours, not just a gut feeling. With SunPlot Pro and Team.
The basis is freely accessible geodata from the Confederation and the cantons (swisstopo, SFOE, FOEN, ARE, cantonal hazard maps and others) as well as OpenStreetMap for the surroundings. The analysis — the sun and shadow values, the charts, the comparison — is SunPlot’s own calculation work and is created afresh for each address.
A real report for the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne, Lidostrasse 5 — exactly as you receive it as a link after ordering. Interactive: you can move the date and time in the report and rotate the 3D view.

Hours of sunshine at a glance — reference date, first and last sun, winter, spring, summer and the whole year, calculated at the roof ridge of the building.
Also in the report: sun path, view from the façades, shadow on the reference dates, solar potential, surroundings, time travel, natural hazards, noise, air, internet, public transport, groundwater, building zones, climate, shadow-hours map — up to 33 chapters.
When you open it, the report loads the geodata fresh from the Confederation and from our server — depending on your connection speed, this takes one to five minutes.
